Oiltranslator is a "virtual corporation" or network of highly-motivated merchant translators and interpreters with lots of experience in oil, gas, geology, geophysics, shipping, contracts, specifications, environmental laws and regulations--in short, the types of documents oil and gas, mining and geophysical contractors and attorneys have to deal with on a daily basis.  Members are screened carefully. Most of us are also interpreters and translate in more than a single direction. Knowledge of engineering is just as important as knowledge of grammatical rules and syntax.

The point of all this is to be masters of our own vessels, so to speak. We have our own bids and agreements, own and operate the software and electronic equipment we use in our work. All of us  are self-motivated self-starters.  We are competitors because we believe in competition, but we cooperate in keeping this website functioning because we believe that serving the interests of companies that operate in out field of choice will serve ours as well.
